We began with site establishment, management planning and survey set-out. This kept the project safe, compliant and on track from day one. First, we stripped and stockpiled topsoil for reuse. We then excavated and removed all unsuitable material from site.

Next, we completed bulk excavation across the full lagoon footprint. We also sourced suitable fill material from an external borrow area. After that, we prepared the foundations and compacted the clay liner to specification.

We constructed the embankments using compacted clay fill, earth fill and rip rap. We also installed an A44 geotextile layer where specified. All fill materials were placed under Level 1 supervision. Additionally, we carried out QA testing throughout to verify compliance.

Finally, we completed the finishing works. These included crushed rock crest capping on the embankments. We also placed topsoil and hydromulch on all embankment and ramp batters.

We built the access ramp using A44 geotextile, crushed rock and a steel traffic guardrail. The access road was constructed with crushed rock and a spray seal finish. We then remediated all external borrow areas through backfilling, topsoiling and seeding.

We installed DN450 DICL inlet, outlet and backwash pipework. We also constructed an emergency overflow system. This included a reinforced concrete overflow intake structure with steel grating. Additionally, we installed an RC stilling basin and DN375 DICL pipework.

We installed level sensor instrumentation to support operational monitoring. We also provided a range of site features for safe access and asset management. These included access stairs, perimeter fencing, survey crest pins and gauge boards.

Finally, we completed inspection, commissioning and as-constructed documentation. We then carried out a full site cleanup and reinstatement to finish the project.
